French Lesson

It was not exactly a new experience for me preparing my own lesson, however it was my first time when I taught in a non-native language. Overall the lesson flowed nicely, the Year 7 group learnt new vocabulary and had fun along the way. The lesson was focused mostly across my presentation that I prepared, but Gregory was the person narrating the lesson, he was responsible for the speaking tasks and vocabulary learning and he handled it well. I was the main organizer of the activities and the tasks, such as worksheets, quizzes and crosswords. This lesson allowed me to revisit some of the vocabulary I had once learned and it was useful for me as well. Although the lesson went well, it did not go according to plan, so my aim for next time will be to plan the lesson better and have a greater variety of activities and work for the children. A useful thing to remember for next time would be to make the children to use their exercise books and have a small test to see how they've accomplished their homework. This Tuesday we gave the kids 20 new words and I already have a test for them, I have also looked into making a new presentation and a quiz with useful idioms that they can later reuse. Me and Gregory have had some discussions on how we will conduct our lesson and I believe our teamwork will remain at a great level for next time.
Our French teacher said that it was a great combination of amusing Gregory and a well organized Mark, so I will attempt to maintain the same level of organization and attempt to work on the mistakes that the children picked up on (they wrote reflections on cards after the lesson), thankfully there were more positives than negatives and for next lesson I will attempt to ameliorate my weaknesses and develop some new speaking skills in order to help the children learn.
